The installed A4Vision solution utilizes the Vision Access 3D Face Reader and the 3Di application for enrollment and template distribution. The solution is integrated with the departments existing DSX access control system. A4Vision products are built specially to be quick and easy to integrate with legacy systems making deployment simplified. The Vision Access 3D face reader interfaces with the existing system via Wiegand protocol for transmitting door open or lock signals and providing an audit trail in the DSX host system.

The 3Di (3D Integration) application has features specifically designed for integration with legacy systems to streamline installation and ongoing administration. This application was designed with integration in mind so there are no duplication of tasks with the host system.

The A4Vision system is working in identification mode at this DHS site making it very quick and convenient for users to move through the secured areas. In identification mode there is no card or pin number required, only that the user glance at the reader for access to the controlled locations. There are two primary modes of operation for the biometric devices, verification (1:1) and identification (1: n). A4Visions 3D facial recognition system is unique in that it can perform identification transaction with large databases for physical access control and time and attendance transactions while maintaining very secure matching levels.
