The reader was designed for quick and easy user positioning which optimizes throughput at entrances. To accomplish this an LCD screen, with optional touch screen PIN pad, and audio feedback have been integrated into the design. This makes it very simple for the user to get into the correct position for the reader to quickly capture the optimal image. The system is designed both as a stand alone system or to interface with legacy access systems in a distributed networked environment.
Through a proprietary matching engine and algorithms, this system performs subject identification and verification in less than one second. The Vision Access face reader is comprised of a real-time 3D surface scanner working in invisible near-infrared light and can be used in both identification and verification modes.
